Creative Writing Mini-Retreat for Teens
Creative Writing Mini-Retreat for Teens
Summer brain rot is real (and sometimes welcome), but we can still hang and see what our pens can do. Join our session or an open-hearted session in a cool spot with cool people. We’ll journal, share, ideate, dream, scribble, and inspire one another to write more. Most of the discussion will center around creative non-fiction writing but students are welcome to bring a flair for fiction.
WHEN: SATURDAY JUNE 21, 2025 - 1:30P-4:30P
WHERE: CITY RETREAT (SOUTH BOSTON) 516 E 2nd St Boston, MA 02127
WHO: Teenagers - Rising 9th, 10th, 11th, 12th graders or recent high school graduates
ABOUT THE INSTRUCTOR:
Kendra Stanton Lee is a high school teacher and writer based in Boston. Her essays and reporting have appeared in The Washington Post, Newsweek, Slate, The Boston Globe, and many others. She holds an MLA in Extension Studies - Journalism from Harvard University. A mother of teenagers, she loves to engage with young people and to help them ignite their creative spark.
Students may want to bring a journal and are welcome to bring a laptop/tablet if that is their preferred way to generate writing.
